Kollam


The cashew paradise of India in God's own country is none but Kollam. So imagine how beautiful it could be. All the places of Kerala are enchanting and Kollam is one such. Once it has been told that if you see Kollam you will not need your home. Kollam is known by different names like Desinganadu, Kollam, and Quilon. What ever you call it, it remains as beautiful as it, a famous beautiful port of international spice trade. Kollam is famous for the Kerala back water tour, historical remnants and a number of temples.
Things to see
Thangasseri – Thangasseri is a beautiful village on the see side and the the Thangasseri Lighthouse which is 144 feet hight is an important tourists attractions of that area. The light house is open to the tourists for a particular period of time.

Ananda Valleeswaram Temple – Ananda Valleeeswaram temple of Lollam is very famous and a must place in Kollam. There are many churches and mosques in Kollam. Kollam is one of India's Christian activity place.

Thirumullavaram beach – Just 6 km from Kollam this beautiful beach located. It is a favourite picnic spot among the tourists. Like the other beaches of Kerala it is also an ideal spot for ideal holidays specially for swiming and bathing. Mahatma Gandhi beach is also another beach just 2 km away from Kollam a fascinating place for evening walk.

Mayyand – The famous Subramanya temple is located here. Mayyand is visited by tourists to see the shrines and temples.

Entertainment Park – Children traffic and entertainment park is another attracting tourists spot of Kollam. Actually Kollam stands along Astamudi lake and children's park is by the side of it.

There are many breath taking view and recreation centre with house boat and ayurvedic centre. Kollam is also famous as a fishing harbour. Practically speaking Kollam is an amazingly soothing place in the state of kerala with lots of activities mainly canal cruises and back water tours.

Communication
Kollam has an excellent road and rail network links to all the major cities and towns of South India.

Excellent traditional hospitality can be felt in almost all the hotels and lodges. There are plenty of staying facility from exotic resorts to budget hotels.
